Then Moses said, “Please let me see your glory.” The Lord said, “I will let all my goodness pass in front of you, and there I will call out my name ‘the Lord.’ I will be kind to anyone I want to. I will be merciful to anyone I want to. But you can’t see my face, because no one may see me and live.” – Exodus 33: 18-20 (GW)
A glimpse of heaven is a privileged view of God’s presence and glory; a sanctifying and humbling experience.
No one can truly experience a glimpse of heaven and not die daily to the sensual attractions and distractions that abound in this body of flesh.
A revelation and a glimpse of heaven highlight what happens where God is, with a purpose that changes our attitude and zeal in our eagerness to reign eternally with Christ.
In heaven, there is authentic and true worship not restricted by man-made institutional traditions. There is total redemption from the flesh and its tendencies, as it is impossible to be sexually immoral or nurse any feeling of hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, envying there. (Gal 5:19-21)
In heaven, the perishable human body is clothed with the imperishable glorious body, and the mortal with immortality because we shed this physical body in the first death that every human will experience (1 Cor.15:54).
In heaven, you will meet those you never thought were chosen. “…the last will be first, and the first will be last.” (Matthew 20:16).
It is humbling to know that those you may have written off may end up there and those highly esteemed before men may not make it. The only requirement to enter heaven is genuine, obedient faith in Christ. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness(Matthew 7:21-23).
There is no marriage relationship in heaven but unfeigned fellowship with one another in the endless heavenly ‘marriage’ “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready (Rev19:7).
Heaven is open to all and accessible by all but requires our decision to enter. The first glimpse of heaven is a salvation experience because except a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). You can make that decision to be born again or re-dedicate your life to Christ by simply following what this scripture says:
Romans 10:6-13 (NKJV): But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”(that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
PRAYER: Lord, I am tired of living life outside knowing you. I want to see you. I need a glimpse of Heaven. I come to you in repentance, believing that Christ died for me. I am asking for the grace to obey you. That I will die daily to self, sin, the world and earthly ambitions in pursuit of your presence. I pray that I will see your glory and your countenance one day in heaven. In Jesus name. Amen
