2 Timothy 3:16-17 CEB – ‘Every scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing mistakes, for correcting, and for training character, so that the person who belongs to God can be equipped to do everything that is good.’
There is nothing more powerful than the Word of God! It has the answer to every question you will ever ask. It can meet every need in your life and it has the power to equip you for whatever you face. The Word even promises that if you obey God, it will produce health for your body (Proverbs 4:20-22). There is no better time than now (in one of the most uncertain times in history) to begin a new habit. Commit to studying the bible daily and there will be a change in your life.
On the other hand, if you neglect God’s Word and fail to include it in your daily life, there are consequences. There are consequences that touch every area of your life. It may not be noticeable at first or maybe you’ve never habitually studied the Word and your life seems fine and dandy. But neglecting physical activity doesn’t seem like a big deal until you’re older and you start to feel the effects. Regular absence of God’s Word is the same way. It jeopardizes faith, steals joy, produces impatience and callousness. Your character at the core erodes into something that not only disgusts others and God, but you as well. Reading the bible daily helps you to grow spiritually, but without it you’re on your way to spiritual death.
The encouragement that comes from God’s Word can bring a person that has been knocked flat on their back up on their feet. It has the power to return them to life regardless of how long they have been down and out. But the Word doesn’t just stop there. It becomes your compass so that you can keep moving forward.
When you see the benefits of God’s Word, it’s almost impossible to imagine how you would ever skip a day of reading the Bible. It has the power to spiritually and literally change your life and put you on a path for success.
Why not start this new habit today?
