Numbers 25:12-13: Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace; and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’’ (NIV)
Phinehas was a man distinguished by God for his passion for God’s will. In Numbers 25:1-13, when the punishment for disobedience was physical death, Phinehas killed two people who publicly disobeyed God’s order to not marry from ungodly nations. He enacted God’s law in tense times, without consideration for human respect or reputation, and he pleased God. It probably was not easy for him, but he didn’t let those anxious thoughts sway him from obeying God.
Just like Phinehas, a man who feared God, you can demonstrate an uncommon zeal for God. You were crafted with a unique and powerful purpose, through which the world will see the glory of God. This ability to represent God in a powerful way comes from loving the Lord with every fiber of your being and surrendering to the Holy Spirit. (Luke 10:27; Acts 5:32)
God wants to do great and mighty things through you, so don’t be afraid, and never allow intimidating thoughts from the enemy.
You were made for a unique purpose!!!

PRAYER: Lord, I want a true relationship with you. Give me a heart like Phinehas, that loves you with everything in me. From this moment I have decided to wholeheartedly pursue you so that you can make me all you want me to be in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
