BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES ON BUILDING

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES ON BUILDING

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES ON BUILDING 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

The devotional for today is a pointer to what the bible says about building. Kindly glean on these time tested principles from God’s word to help you in what God is calling you into at this time.

Count the cost

Luke 14:28-30 (NLT) “But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you. They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’

Confirm the foundation

1 Corinthians 3:11 (NLT) For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:20 (NLT) Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.

Check the building materials

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (NLT) – Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.

Build with holiness

1 Peter 2:5 (AMP) You [believers], like living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house for a holy and dedicated priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:20b-21 (AMP) Christ Jesus Himself as the [chief] Cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together, and it continues [to increase] growing into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, set apart, and sacred to the presence of the Lord].

Build with prayer and a revelation of the word

Acts 6:4 (NKJV): …but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Matthew 16:16-18 (GW Translation): Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!” Jesus replied, “Simon, son of Jonah, you are blessed! No human revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven revealed it to you. You are Peter, and I can guarantee that on this rock  I will build my church. And the gates of hell will not overpower it.

Build with love and unity

Psalm 133:1 (NKJV) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

1 Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV) Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord, for the revelation about building according to biblical principles. Please help me to adhere to the biblical principles of building and help me to build right in Jesus name. Amen.
