Revelation 4:11 (NKJV) – “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
Why was I born? Why am I here?
You may be wondering these things or you may have pondered on these questions before.
The answer is clear from God’s word. You were created for His pleasure, to give glory to Him; simply put, to worship Him. Revelation 4:11 (NKJV) – “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
What does it mean to worship God?: To worship God means to put God first in all areas of your life, from the little things to the most complex aspects of your life. In worshipping God, your life is centered in God. He is the first and the last of everything you do.
In Matthew 6:33 AMPC, the Bible says that we should seek (aim at and strive after) first of all God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness (His way of doing and being right)….
Therefore as believers, we live to worship God. The goal of our lives is to put Him first in all our affairs and to represent Him while we are here on earth. 1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (NKJV)
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for showing me the purpose of my existence. You created me to give glory and honor to you by the way I live. Help me to daily know my identity in you and give me the grace to live a life that points people to you in Jesus name. Amen.
