Isaiah 26:9a NIV – ‘My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you.’
Psalm 3:5 NIV – I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
The beginning and end of everyday are opportunities for pure and undisturbed worship.
Our hearts and minds are prepared for a posture of obedience and gratitude that carries us through-out the day when we worship God in the morning. (Isaiah 50:4) At night, we are able to grow deeper in love with God by thanking Him for the day and examining ourselves before we go to sleep.
This practice is like walking through a field of grass once every day. In a week you may not see a dramatic change, but in a year you will begin to see a path from where your feet have trod. (Mark 4:26-29)
WHAT NEXT?: Every morning and every night, seek after Jesus in a sincere and devoted way. This practice will transform your life and give you peace through a close relationship with Him no matter what comes your way.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for the opportunity to wake up each morning and go to sleep at night. As I go through the journey you have set before me, remind me to start and end each day with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
