Romans 5:5: Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (NKJV)
Hope is vital in the Christian walk. Faith is the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1); and true agape love is always full of hope (1 Corinthians 13:7).
Without hope (a vision, expectation or knowledge of God’s will), we will always cast off restraint, give up or compromise our faith.
The hope that God will save our friends and family members helps us not to give up on praying for their salvation. The hope that God has a plan for our lives will keep us hardworking and in faith, never giving up.
Most importantly, the hope of Jesus’ return and eternal judgment keeps us from compromise and sin and helps us keep ourselves pure. As Christians, we deny ourselves in line with the biblical hope that Jesus is coming back again to take us to heaven. Acts 24:15-16: I have the same hope in God that these Jews have—the hope that all people, good and bad, will be raised from death. This is why I always try to do what I believe is right before God and before everyone.(ERV)
1 John 3:2-3: Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.(NIV)
Be encouraged today to continue to be filled with hope no matter what comes your way and no matter the temptations you may be facing to compromise your faith. There are eternal rewards for continuing in hope.
Romans 15:13: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)
