“Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him” – Proverbs 30:5
Don’t ask God for a word if you’re not willing to have that word tested. Every word of God, whether through the Scriptures or through prophecy or through personal communication of the Holy Spirit is tested.
When tribulations and persecutions arise because of a word you have received from God, it’s not because you have a bad hand in the game of life. Jesus makes it clear in Mark 4:17 that these issues arise because of the word. Mark 4:17 – and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. (NKJV)
If the enemy can get you to remove your faith from the seed of the word of God then there will be no faith to water it in order for it to bear fruit.
Every word of God is tested. This truth must find a place to die in our hearts. When we grow to understand this we won’t grow to wonder why certain trials and tribulations beset us as though something strange and unique is happening to us and us alone. We would grow to understand that the same trials and tribulations are experienced by the like-minded brethren throughout the word who were brave enough to put their trust in the word of God. 1 Peter 5:9 – Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. (NKJV)
Today’s encouragement is to endure. Endure, and do not cast away your confidence for it is worthy of great reward. You are not alone in your trial of faith, but have entered into a spiritual lineage of men and women who have made up their mind to believe in the impossible, the unseen word of God.
Fix your eyes on Christ, for He who promised is faithful and also will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for the revelation about your word today. Now I understand that tribulations and persecutions arise because of the word you have spoken to me. Please, give me the grace to endure and not stumble. Give me the grace to hold fast to my faith even as I await that which you have spoken. In Jesus name. Amen.
