FAITH IN THE UNCHANGING WORD OF GOD

FAITH IN THE UNCHANGING WORD OF GOD

FAITH IN THE UNCHANGING WORD OF GOD 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

Hebrews 12:22: It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.(NLT)

Today’s devotional is a reminder to have faith in God’s unchanging word.

God spoke to Abraham in Genesis 15 about a promise to give his descendants the land of Canaan as inheritance but promised that they would serve as slaves in a foreign land for 400 years before inheriting Canaan. (Genesis 15:13-20) Psalm 105:9-11: This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant: “I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.”(NLT)

In line with the promise of God to his fathers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Joseph on his death bed made a great declaration by faith. Genesis 50:24-25 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” And Joseph made the Israelites swear an oath and said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.”(NLT)

He expressed a strong faith in what God had promised his fathers about them inheriting the promised land despite them having settled in Egypt.

Later on they would become slaves to the Egyptians but at the appointed time, God delivered them and led them to the land of Canaan as Joseph had prophesied. Exodus 13:19: And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had placed the children of Israel under solemn oath, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.”(NKJV)

Is there something that God has promised you? Please make sure to hold on to the word of God like Joseph did and say to yourself: “Surely, the Lord will do what He has promised me”

Keep holding on to God and keep making declarations in faith. His word will surely come to pass in your life in Jesus name. Isaiah 55:12: So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.(NKJV)

2nd Corinthians 1:20: For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.(NIV)

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank You for Your word that is yes and amen. Please give me a heart of faith and assurance that Your word is true and will surely come to pass in my life. From today, I declare that: surely, you will visit me as you have promised to do. In Jesus name. Amen.
