“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.” Psalm 37:3
What does it mean to feed on the faithfulness of God? To feed on something means to consume it or become nourished, satisfied, or sustained by that thing as if by food.
We see God’s faithfulness in his steadfast love for us (See Romans 8:38-39, John 3:16, John 17: 23) and how firmly He keeps the promises He has made to us.
To feed on this amazing faithfulness of God means to be satisfied with the knowledge that He is who He says He is and His word is true. It will not return back to Him void but instead it will accomplish the thing for which it is sent (Isaiah 55:11).
Therefore, you can feed on His faithfulness by allowing Him to sustain you and silence your worries.
This is especially necessary in the most difficult seasons when it seems like everything around you is crumbling. The enemy may try to use tragic events to rob us of our joy, peace, and — most of all — our faith in God. But as a baby feeds on milk to provide nourishment for his body, let us also cling to our Heavenly Father who provides nourishment for our souls.
Submit all the concerns of your heart to God and just allow Him to be God in your life.
PRAYER: God I thank You because You are faithful; therefore, I can depend on You without fear of disappointment. Help me to feed on Your faithfulness habitually, even in the most difficult times. Lord search my heart and reveal any areas where I am not fully dependent on You.
(Take time to listen for His response).
Lord I repent for not depending on You in these areas. Forgive me Lord, and help me to always remember that You are enough for me.
