FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS

FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS

FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

‘Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.’ – Hebrews 12:2 NIV

It is very easy to get lost and wound up in the things of this world.

It is easy to compare yourself to your neighbor, your friend, your brother and think, “I do not have that,” “My family is not like that,” “ I don’t look like that.”

It is easy to become a compulsive spender, or a social media idealist when those messages are consistently presented before you. But the word of God directs us to look elsewhere.

The word says that we should not conform to the ways of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2). The word says that instead of following the ways of this world, we should fix our eyes on Jesus.

Instead of being consumed by the mundane things of life or looking more like the world, we as children of God should take another way. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. ‘ Matthew 7:13-14 NIV

Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction. Let us not try and be like the world, for those who are in Christ are a new creation.

There is grace for us to fix our eyes on Him, the author and finisher of our faith, that we may run this race with endurance (Heb 12:1). ‘Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.’ – Hebrews 12:3 NIV

Don’t grow weary, don’t lose heart even when your journey of faith feels difficult.

Keep enduring, keep fixing your eyes on Jesus. There is glory ahead.

PRAYER: Father, forgive me for taking my eyes off You. Help me to fix my eyes on You. Thank You for the grace to come to You. Thank You for the grace to be like You. Amen.
