It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High, to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness every night. – Psalm 92:1-2 (NKJV)
Our reference scripture is a very special one because it tells us how good it is to give thanks to God. We are to sing praises to Him for His protection, provision, love, grace, mercy and righteousness.
Did you know that giving thanks is God’s desire concerning us? The Word of God says this “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV).
You see if you are wondering what the will of God is for your life, there’s an answer for you (but it is not limited to just this answer). God wants you to rejoice always, pray always and give thanks always, it’s His will, His desire for you.
So why don’t you just take a moment to give thanks to God for all He has done. You can sing as many songs as possible in your moment of thanksgiving right now. This is one to get you started:
“Count your blessings name them one by one,
Count your blessings see what God has done,
Count your blessings name them one by one,
And it will surprise you, what the Lord has done”
Take this moment to give thanks to God for everything He has done for you and if you do not know where to start, thank Him for keeping you safe and giving you life.
