But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. – Isaiah 64:8 (NKJV)
As we move through the various seasons of our life, it is so easy to forget that we are not our own responsibility.
When a potter sits down to work on a new piece, he is responsible for the result of his work. Knowing this, the potter carefully molds the piece, taking time to tend to details and fix any unwanted grooves or dents.
Similarly, God is working on us, taking His time to address the matters of our heart and heal any wounds.
This process may not always feel great. In fact, it can feel very uncomfortable at times, but we must trust that God is not just a good potter but the perfect potter. Therefore, we can trust Him in those uncomfortable moments because we know that the resulting perfection that comes from His molding will be perfect.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to yield to You as my potter even when it is challenging. Help my unbelief Lord, that I may trust you with my whole heart and relinquish responsibility for myself in Jesus’ name. Amen.
