“And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings; so will the LORD do to all the kingdoms through which you pass. You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.’” – Deuteronomy 3:21-22 NKJV
The LORD your God Himself fights for you. God who created the universe, who is worshipped by all of creation, the King of kings and Lord of lords — fights for you. Why then do you fear?
God has proven time and time again that when He fights, He always wins. With this knowledge, we ought to approach the challenges of life in confidence that God will fight for us and victory is guaranteed.
One reason we resort to fear in the face of challenges is that we only consider our own abilities. God may call us to do things we feel we are not good at or endure hardships that threaten to break us. In our own human ability, we will not be able to accomplish these things but God is not telling you to go through challenges alone. Instead He instructs us to simply be obedient to Him and trust Him to do all the heavy lifting.
At every point in the battle, He will be fighting for you so trust in Him — not your own abilities — and wait patiently for the victory that is already yours.
PRAYER: Lord I thank You for always fighting for me. As I go through challenges, help me to not give in to fear but to remember that You, the Almighty God, are fighting for me. Help me to trust in You alone rather than my own abilities, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
