Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond-servants of God. – 1 Peter 2:16 (NASB)
A bondservant is someone who has released ownership of himself and has fully given himself over to another for service. A bondservant cannot serve another because he has been purchased by One.
God has called all men into bond service; service (-servant) that is adjunct of ownership (bond-) that frees us from all that may have owned us. Bond service to God is a fruit of our salvation.
We have been bought with blood and become bound to Christ in our spirits.
His purchase warrants us total freedom from all former masters who may have owned us in times past.
His purchase secures our place in His kingdom and delivers us from all former kingdoms we have served.
The price of our purchase was expensive, and therefore He will defend His property on account of the blood.
You must know that you have been bought. You must understand that you have been bought. You must stand in the midst of opposition on the basis that you have been bought.
Your faith must stand in the truth that you have been bought.
Stand firm in this truth, rejoice in this truth and do not entangle yourself again in the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1).
PRAYER: Lord thank you for purchasing me. Thank you for putting your mark on me. In any way I have served another, I renounce all affiliation and devote myself to You. I am Yours, and You are mine. I thank you for calling me into Your Kingdom. In Jesus name. Amen.
