What does the word mature mean to you and what bible verse comes to you when you think of the word?

Maturity to me refers to something stable, something not easily shaken and grown to a point where it is self-sustaining. The bible verse which comes to mind is James 1:3-4.

Reflect on your walk with God up until now. What factors would you consider most important in your growth process?

First and foremost, I would say faith. It is literally the reason why we follow Christ. If you do not trust God, you cannot have faith in Him.

To be truthful, we always need God to come through for us. If I wanted to rely on my own understanding, it wouldn’t work. I need to have faith in God.

Trust is a great factor too. Trusting God and having faith in Him has helped me in my growth. Those two internal factors have helped me grow. Also, reading the word helps to reveal more of God’s nature and helps you build trust in God.

Prayer is important because in the world we live in, there are many voices. But when one is in constant communication with God, he or she can easily distinguish the voice of God from others.

What were your initial struggles when you gave your life to Christ and how were you able to overcome them?

I struggled with trusting God because I liked planning things ahead in a strict manner. I like having plans, and I am very organized. So when things didn’t go as planned, I had to learn to trust God and rely on his faithfulness.

Initially, when I gave my life to Christ, I didn’t have a home church. Although I watched a lot of online sermons, I wasn’t so filled with the word of God. The Holy Spirit began convicting me about certain areas of my life. However, when I joined BCF, I started attending bible studies and I saw the word of God broken down and taught. Things started making a lot more sense, so I think back then I was literally a baby just drinking milk, relying on other people’s food or their leftovers to sustain me. Eventually, I joined a local church and I found a community there as well.
