He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Colossians 1:15-18 (NKJV)
Have you ever wondered who Jesus Christ is? Some people think they know enough but it is good to humble ourselves and ask the question, Lord show me more of who You are.
He is the good shepherd who leads His sheep, He is our Friend (our best friend), He is our Savior who takes away the sins of the world, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus is so much more to us and I want to show you another side to Jesus.
Jesus is the one in charge. He runs this show and everything, anything be it thrones, dominions, principalities or powers, answer to Him. In Colossians 1:15 Paul was telling the church at Colosse that Jesus is the image of the invisible God. This means that Jesus is the likeness and manifestation of God (John 1:1-14). By Jesus all things were created and are created for Him. Jesus owns it all. The most beautiful thing about all these is that Jesus is the head of the church. Jesus who is in charge of everything, who has all power and all glory is the head of the church. This means that we have a Savior, a mighty Savior. He is King of kings and Lord of Lords and He is our head.
So what does all this mean?
Jesus is in charge so we got nothing to fear. What can man do to us? In fact what can the devil and his demons do to us. He that is in us, is greater than He that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We have nothing to be afraid of. Find confidence in this truth that Jesus is in charge of everything including your life. He owns it and He will sustain it all you need to do is trust Him with it. Trust God with your life and He will protect you, provide for you and be with you. Hard times will come, the devil will try to discourage you and tempt you but Jesus has got you covered.
So trust receive Him today, trust Him today because He is in charge of everything including your life.
Pray that Jesus will reveal more of Himself to you daily.
PRAYER: Jesus thank You for the revelation about You in Your word. I am able to live life rest assured that you are in charge of all my affairs. Please give me the grace to keep my eyes fixed on you today and always. Amen.
