Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV)
Rejoicing is not just about singing songs or feeling happy inside, rather, it is a decision to take the focus away from what is happening and placing your focus on the goodness of God.
Some days may be bad but keep on rejoicing.
You may feel like nothing makes sense but keep on rejoicing.
In Romans 12:12 (NLT), the Bible tells us to “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying”
Rejoicing in times of trouble is possible, if not, God will not tell us to do it. The truth is that when we keep on rejoicing, being patient in trouble and praying, our faith grows because we shift our focus to Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
James 1:2-3 (NKJV) says “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience”. God’s Word is saying that we should count it all joy when we face various trials or hiccups in life because it is for a purpose: to test our faith, and this process produces patience.
So, when you face trials of any sort in this life see it as an opportunity to rejoice even more and to trust in God more. God bless you.
PRAYER: Thank You Jesus for Your wonderful word today, I thank You for all You have done for me and all that You still do. Lord, grant me the grace to rejoice in times of trouble and to fix my eyes on You daily. Thank You Lord for hearing me and answering my prayers. In Jesus Christ Name. Amen
