Psalm 45:1 (AMP): My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my psalm to the King. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.
Reflecting on the reality of the Lord being King brings a soothing effect to my soul. As King of the Universe, He is in total control, working everything towards His perfect plan. (Ephesians 1:5,9)
His Kingship is seen in creation, in the church, in His unlimited power but somehow, there is a place I always need to constantly crown Him: MY HEART.
As human beings who have flesh and blood, we have so many things competing for our attention. We have constant needs, pressures, trials and temptations that compete for space with the King.
While in the midst of constant pressures, challenges and issues of life, we tend to place many of these mundane earthly things above the pursuit of our King and His eternal kingdom.
God being King many times brings us to the end of ourselves and ambitions in order for us to realize who is really King.
A good reminder is the lyrics of a hymn: ALL MY HOPE ON GOD IS FOUNDED. A part of that hymn says: “God unknown, He alone calls my heart to be His own”.
A constant posture of our heart should be a posture that God is always enthroned. Make up your mind today to enthrone God in your heart today and always.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, you alone are King. King of the universe, King of kings, Lord over all. I say YES to you afresh today. Please deliver me from every idol and reign as King in my heart forever in Jesus name. Amen.
