LIMITING BELIEFS

LIMITING BELIEFS

LIMITING BELIEFS 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

“Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” – Jeremiah 32:26-27 NIV

Limiting beliefs can be defined as beliefs which are often false, that we hold on to which prevent us from pursuing our dreams, goals, and God-given desires. They essentially limit what you can do or what you see yourself as capable of doing.

Limiting beliefs are especially harmful when it becomes an excuse for not doing what we are called to do.

An example you are probably familiar with is Moses! Yes, Moses in the book of Exodus who was sent to free the Israelites from slavery.

“Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”” Exodus 4:10-12 NIV

What was his limiting belief?: He believed that his speech issues could not qualify him to do what God had already given him the authority to do!

Do you see the Lord’s response?

Meditate on it and be encouraged. The Lord is with you and will empower you.

PRAYER: Dear Father, help me to identify limiting beliefs in all areas of my life. I ask that you free me from them and reassure me of who you are! Lord, help me to boldly walk exactly as you have called me to be even if it does not fit with the narrative that I have bounded myself to. In Jesus name. Amen.
