Hebrews 3:1: Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our Apostle and High priest. (NIV)
In our world today, there are many different beliefs about who God is and how to access Him. Some think they believe in the same God of the bible, except they don’t believe that Jesus is the way to the Father. (John 14:6, John 1:1-2, 1 John 5:20). Others believe God is the universe, or exchange the image of God for something corruptible (Romans 1:22-23) and some don’t believe in God at all (Psalm 14:1).
For those who truly follow Christ, we know Jesus to be the sure way to get to the Father.
When we pattern our lives after the example that Jesus set for us and seek to please the Father in all we do, we can be sure we are going in the right direction.
Proverbs 14:12 tells us that, “there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”. If the way we are taking is not consistent with the character of Jesus, we should be careful not to go too far down that path. God is ready and willing to rescue anyone that strays away, but it is safer to abide where the Lord is.
Sometimes we won’t know the best course of action to take. These times of critical decision making are opportunities to seek God. By looking to Jesus in all that we think about, say and do, we can be led in how to navigate every situation in life.
PRAYER: Father I thank you because of my Lord Jesus Christ. He gave His life so that I can have intimate fellowship with you. As Jesus lived in reverent obedience to you and submitted to your will in everything He did, help me to always do the same. In Jesus Name, Amen.
