1 John 4:7-8: Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.(NKJV)
God is love. Love is His nature, and can only exist imperfectly outside of Him.
His love is perfect and pure, and we received it when we believed and turned away from sin.
When we love as He loves, we are free from lust and a desire for selfish gain. It is only after knowing His love, that we are able to love purely. We reserve our best, and ultimately our all, when we pursue His love wholeheartedly. We then are able to grow in love towards each other. Love can then be perfected in us like John describes. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. -1 John 4:12.
May God fill our hearts with His love in Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER: Lord, please help me to understand what it means to love the way you love. Fill me with your love and help me abound in love towards others in Jesus name, Amen.
