MEET THE BEST FRIEND TO HAVE

MEET THE BEST FRIEND TO HAVE

MEET THE BEST FRIEND TO HAVE 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

John 15:15 ESV – ‘No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.’

John 15:13 ESV – ‘Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.’

I don’t know how many friends you have on Facebook, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok and Twitter, or the number of likes you get on Instagram, but I want to propose a fact of life; Many of the people we consider friends may not truly be our friends.

Jesus wants us to know that we have true friendship in Him. He helps us to paint a picture of this special friendship in John 15:15, one of our reference scriptures for today.

The verse lets us know that Jesus makes known to us everything He learned from The Father through His Word (the Bible) in the same way that a true intimate friendship involves sharing yourself with the other person.

He also left us with the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things (John 14:26). One thing about the Holy Spirit is that you cannot successfully live the Christian life without Him. The Holy Spirit is always inviting us into deeper friendship through the knowledge of Him in true fellowship.

A lifelong and fruitful service to God flows from the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14). The Holy Spirit is for keeps because He will never leave you. That is the best friend to pursue. Please don’t just like Him, but welcome Him and allow Him to be Lord.

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, I ask that You will fill me afresh with you and show me what it means to fellowship with You in friendship. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
