MODESTY

MODESTY

MODESTY 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. – Roman 14:13 (NLT).

The bible is clear about what modesty is. The Word of God makes it clear that we are in the world but not of the world. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world John 17:6 (KJV).

Despite how reckless the world has become, there are still workplace regulations on what is considered appropriate or inappropriate dressing. When going for an interview there is an intentional effort to consider how one appears. The same way, there are things that are not permissible for both men and women to wear and appear in the fellowship.

“I have the right to do anything,” you say–but not everything is beneficial 1 Cor. 6:12a (NIV)

If you expose your skin unduly, you create a stronger attraction for the opposite sex to look at your body and think lustful thoughts, why entice them at all?

Do you like exposing sensitive parts of your body, dressing provocatively? You may want to consider your brother or sister who may be visual by nature. Do not be selfish, think of how what you put on and the body area you uncover can serve as stumbling block to your brother or sister.

I do not want to hurt any of my Christian friends. So, if the food that I eat causes them to do something wrong, I will never eat meat again. – 1 Cor. 8:13 (EASY)

PRAYER: Lord teach me what it means to be modest in how I carry myself and relate to others. May my dressing and way of life never be a distraction or reason for others to stumble in Jesus name. Amen.
