Proverbs 19: 21 “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
“The vision never changed…. Your faith did…. “
One day I was asking God why things didn’t line up how I originally saw them.
Me: God I know you gave me this vision, but what happened?
God: You shifted your focus.
Me: But God I went to church, I sang on the praise team, I always volunteered when the pastor called, etc…..
God: But was it for Me?
Me: I mean it’s church, yea…………
God: The moment you took your eyes off me, you lost the favor to stand. You lost the miracle to walk upright. I never asked you to do half of the things you did, and what I did ask, you didn’t do for me. My plans for your life have not changed, but you did. I cannot go back on my word, even if you go back on yours.
Me: ……… (Silent thoughts as I process what really happened. Silent tears as I check my heart….)
God: I have good plans for you. Yes, you will walk through storms, but don’t create your own storm. Yes, I will set you apart, but your pride will place you in a false individuality I do not approve of. Yes, the vision remains, but the question is, will you remain in me to fulfill it this time?
As we receive promises from God, we have to make sure we are in His will to receive them. Too often we get excited because God has promised us things such as good grades, a spouse, financial breakthrough, etc. The problem usually lies in how we not only receive the promise but how we trust God through the process. It is very easy to hear that something good is coming our way, but we must not forget to have faith in God. The Bible says, “They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, not wait on the promise. So I encourage you today, to wait on God. Trust the plan that He has for you by submitting to His will.
Dear Lord, I repent for not trusting you. I repent for putting the gift before you, my God, the Giver. Lord, I humble myself so that I can be in your will from this point forward. I give my desires over to you. Reveal any idol that may be in my life and show me how to cast it out. I will wait for you, Lord.
