Hebrews 1:1-2: God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; (NKJV)
Ephesians 3: 14-19: for this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (NKJV)
The scriptures for today point to one significant truth: Jesus Christ is God and has power over everything!!
Now on the surface, this does not seem particularly controversial for the average believer. But the truth is that, experientially, many of us forget.
Many of us, in our day to day, forget that Jesus is God.
Many of us forget that He still has power over everything.
While you may remember Him as the Man who walked on the earth to model the Life of God to us, do you still see Him as God?
You see, He is not only capable of being touched with our troubles; He can actually do something about them.
He is not only capable of mending things, He made everything and He can certainly recreate them.
This is why, among several things, He tells us not to fear.
He is the Word of God, the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world and manifested in these last times for us. The Alpha and Omega, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David. He is the Word made flesh, our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, Baptizer in the Holy Ghost. By Him all things were made, and He fills all things.
And so, Paul in the third chapter of His Ephesians, prays that the Holy Spirit will strengthen the believers in Ephesus with power in their inner man, so that ultimately, Christ may dwell in their hearts by faith, and they may be filled with ALL the fullness of God! Hallelujah!
Indeed, it is our destiny to walk in His fullness, even as we fellowship with this Truth – that Christ is God.
This is something to be excited about, and something to passionately desire!
PRAYER: Take sometime today to acknowledge Him for who He is and thank Him for all He has done for you. Ask Him to reveal a fresh dimension of Himself to you today. In Jesus name. Amen.
