Ecclesiastes 7:10 – Don’t long for “the good old days.” This is not wise.(NLT)
Phillipians 3:14-16 – I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made. (NLT)
The word of God is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16) When we genuinely study God’s word with a heart to obey, we are transformed and able to live a life full of gratitude and the right perspectives.
Our reference scriptures for today give us an opportunity to renew our minds concerning situations we do not see as ideal.
Rather than focus on past situations that cannot be changed or be full of regrets due to what could have been, we should be contented and grateful for where we are.
Count your blessings and reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness to you so far.
Instead of being full of regret, go back to God, ask Him for direction on how to move forward and make the best use of everyday. Remind yourself of your God given vision and pursue it wholeheartedly without looking back.
You have a glorious future ahead of you no matter how many good or bad things have happened in your past.
Remember, He has a glorious plan for you and will not leave nor forsake you.
Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (NKJV)
Hebrews 13:5: Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (NKJV)
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the encouragement from your word today. I choose to praise you for today and trust you for a bright tomorrow. Please give me eyes that see what you see concerning me and help me to joyfully wait as I walk towards the fulfillment of your plans for my life. In Jesus name. Amen.
