‘When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”’ – Psalms 27:8 NKJV
After returning home from a long trip abroad, I realized I did not have anything to wear. All my clothes were items I had bought at a younger age and I felt that I could not properly present myself as a child of God. So, I started to worry and spent hours looking through online clothing stores.
In the midst of my fretting, the Lord led me to these scriptures:
‘“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? ‘Matthew 6:25-26 NKJV
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or wear. ‘… For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things..” He knows. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’Matthew 6:32-33 NKJV
As human beings, we will always have situations where we have numerous needs or face uncertainty. In spite of this reality, God wants to be our First and Last option every time. He knows that we need all these things, but He calls us to seek first the Kingdom of God. He calls us to seek His face. He also assures us that when we truly seek Him and His kingdom, all things we need will be added to us.
Make a determination to be like David, who in the midst of his own troubles remained resolute to seek God’s face.
Thoughts:
– What needs are you worried about in this moment?
– Have you presented those worries to your heavenly Father?
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for being aware of my earthly needs and showing me that You are all I need. Help me to seek your face and seek first your kingdom in all situations of life in Jesus name. Amen.
