THAT YOU MAY COMPREHEND

THAT YOU MAY COMPREHEND

THAT YOU MAY COMPREHEND 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

Ephesians 3:14-19: For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (NKJV)

To comprehend means to understand and understanding takes diligent study and a desire to learn.

The writer of the book of Luke in a bid to understand the story and life of the Messiah did careful investigation. He took into account previous written narratives, eyewitness accounts and the things ministers of the word passed down (Luke 1:1-4). Prophet Daniel in Daniel Chapter 9 also took time to do diligent study of the writings of Prophet Jeremiah before engaging in a prayer of restoration for himself and the people of Israel.

In the book of Ephesians, Apostle Paul, a teacher of God’s word began to break down spiritual mysteries concerning our position in Christ, the riches of His grace and God’s eternal plan of redemption. Here in our reference scripture, Apostle Paul prayed that his readers would be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width, length, depth, and height of the love of Christ.

This kind of understanding requires diligent study of the word and prayer. This kind of understanding requires us to submit ourselves to teaching and fellowship with the saints.

Is there anything you are seeking to understand about the faith. Is there something you are seeking God to show you?

Take the time to apply these time-tested, biblical principles and see God open the eyes of your understanding.

PRAYER: Thank you Father for your word. It is your desire for me to be full of understanding in all things. Please give me the grace to diligently study your word and pray on issues I need to comprehend. Help me to submit myself to sound teaching and fellowship in order to receive revelation about deep spiritual matters in Jesus name. Amen.
