Psalm 97:5 – The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.(NKJV)
Our reference scripture talks about mountains melting like wax in the presence of the Lord. While this may sound abstract, we have examples in the present that bring this language to life.
Go online and look up the Grand Canyon, and find out how it was formed. Over years, the Colorado River wore down on the earth, driving deeper and deeper with time, forming one of the largest ravines in the world. The Grand Canyon is around a mile deep, and 18 miles wide, and all that was needed was steady flowing water. If God can create that with water, then mountains melting like wax doesn’t seem so far fetched does it?
The erupting of volcanoes is also a great example to add to that.
We may see these things as random natural phenomena, but they are testaments to the glory and power of God.
If such natural phenomena are too much for human beings to fathom, then God Himself, His true presence will truly be something to behold. Take time to think about the majesty and greatness of God today. Let your imagination run deep, trying to picture just how awesome God is.
He is worthy to be praised!
1 Timothy 6:15b-16: God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.(NIV)
PRAYER: God, you are more than I can comprehend. You are the One who made me, who made the earth, who made every good and beautiful thing. I praise you Lord! You are before all things and in you all things are held together. Words are not enough to describe You. Please, give me a heart of thanksgiving, of praise and wonder In Jesus name. Amen.
