“Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord. “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.” Isaiah 66:9 (NKJV)
Due to their lack of faith and disobedience, the children of Israel had been through much turmoil.
In this last chapter of Isaiah, we see the prophet declaring the word of the Lord which is that the Lord will vindicate His children and they will finally claim all that He has for them.
Of course it was hard to believe that this word would actually come to pass but the Lord said “Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery? Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?”
Likewise, many of us have been in seasons of waiting on the Lord and as each day passes it becomes harder to believe. However, we must understand that God has not brought us this far for no reason. He will not bring you to the time of birth (a time to reap what you have sown in faith and see His promises come to pass) just to prohibit you from actually experiencing the joy of delivery.
In the meantime, we ought to wait patiently and trust in Him to do exactly what He said He will do knowing that He is the author and finisher of our faith. There is no need to lose heart just because of how much time has passed; instead, we can express how we feel to God and ask Him to help us believe.
PRAYER: Thank you Father for Your faithfulness to your promises concerning me. I know you are ready to perform that which you have promised. Continue to fill my heart with gratitude and faith. I know and I am sure that the set time for me to be favored is here. In Jesus name. Amen.
