Proverbs 3:3-4: Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. (NKJV)

Mercy and truth will become part of our nature if we do not let them depart from us. Whenever we let truth depart from us, we open ourselves to lies. In the same vein,  when we tell lies, we let the truth depart from us. And when  the truth departs from us, we show that we no longer  value the relationship we have with God.

Our relationship with God is the most important relationship that we can ever have. Therefore, it is crucial that we value it. God highly esteems all who have Him as their most precious treasure. These ones are special in his eyes, and they also obtain favor from Him.

One way that we can be merciful is by being forgiving towards those around us; our families, friends, and others we interact with. By voluntarily forgiving others, we are finding favor and high esteem in the sight of God.

God wants us to be merciful and truthful. Let us do so because we value our relationship with God.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank You that it is Your desire to grant me favor and to hold me to high esteem. I pray that where there is unforgiveness in my heart, You will make me merciful  and that where there is a tendency to be untruthful, You will make me truthful. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
