WALKING RIGHTEOUSLY

WALKING RIGHTEOUSLY

WALKING RIGHTEOUSLY 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil—they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them. – Isaiah 33:15-16 (NIV)

Doing the right thing is worth it!

Do you have certain situations in life where you prefer to cut corners? Do you speed when you should be obeying the limit? Do you pay your taxes honestly? Do you habitually show up late to things that you can be on time for? Do you allow evil thoughts to take root in your mind?

I can certainly say that it’s tempting, and beyond this list we all have things our conscience constantly speaks up about.

There is never an excuse to sin.

Though there are times when “the rules” seem to not be fair, or walking righteously looks difficult, we need to walk righteously, we need to be fanatics about obedience to God.

Even though it may seem like we are overdoing it and being extra, let us remember the promise of God’s word. Don’t forget that we live righteously because it pleases God our Master. This is not about a list of rules but walking in obedience before a good and all knowing Father who rewards people who walk righteously.

“they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them.” – Isaiah 33:16 (NIV)

PRAYER: Father, thank you for your word. Please give me the grace to always do the right thing even when it hurts. Please remind me of your promise to those who cling to righteousness and give me the strength to choose you in all situations, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
