WHO IS LEADING YOU?

WHO IS LEADING YOU?

WHO IS LEADING YOU? 150 150 Bethel Campus Fellowship

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. – Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)

Mankind was created in God’s image and made for fellowship with God.

It was God’s plan for us to maintain intimate friendship and fellowship with Him in order for us to fulfill our purpose on earth.

Unfortunately, Eve was tempted by Satan; and both her and Adam fell into sin. As a result of the fall, intimate fellowship with God was broken. Since the fall, human beings have been left with two options: DO THINGS OUR OWN WAY or SEEK GOD’S LEADING.

These options are exemplified among the descendants of Adam.

Cain chose to do his own thing:Genesis 4:16-17 Cain went away from the Lord and lived in the land of Nod. Cain had sexual relations with his wife. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son named Enoch. Cain built a city and gave the city the same name as his son Enoch.

He decided to move away from God and became pretty successful at it.

In contrast, the lineage of Seth, Adam’s third son chose a different path: Genesis 4:26 Seth also had a son. He named him Enosh. At that time people began to pray to the Lord. (ERV)

The consequences of their choices became clear. Cain’s success ended with this life, his whole race was wiped out in the flood and scriptures have no further record of him except for his wickedness.

On the other hand, the lineage of Seth walked with God and all the bible heroes of faith you can think of are children of Seth. Because Seth’s lineage chose to call on God, they were able to fulfill the purpose of their existence and have eternal relevance.

When God created us, He did not intend for us to do our own thing. Living life independent of God and what God thinks is an abuse of why we were created. Anything we do outside God is vanity and only those who do the will of God will fulfill the purpose for which God created them.

God made you and in order for you to know the best way to live, you have to look into your manufacturer’s manual: Jeremiah 10:23: Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. (NIV)

PRAYER: Dear Father, my life is not my own, you made me to have intimacy with you. Please help me to cherish fellowship with you more than anything else. From today, I choose to depend on you for every decision I make so that my life will bring glory to you in Jesus name. Amen.
