Ecclesiastes 12:1 NIV – ‘Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”–’
The present may feel like an eternity, but it’s not going to last anywhere near as long. Time is moving, friend! Even right now, seconds are passing that none of us will ever reclaim.
In Ecclesiastes Solomon instructs young people to remember their Creator while they are young, when there is not only youthful strength, but less concerns.
Solomon spoke from a very privileged viewpoint; he was a man who had become richer than anyone before and during his time, a man who experienced all a person could dream of in the world: riches, business, invention, power, and wisdom. But when Solomon reached this summit of worldly success and realized that the pleasures that captivated his younger years were meaningless, he wished he had made the better decision of just obeying God. In other words, he would have sacrificed all he had in order to go back and obey God wholeheartedly.
What is scary about this principle is that most younger people have heard it at one point or another, but we don’t put it to practice.
What about you? What are you going to do? Who or what are you going to dedicate your youth to?
Mark 8:36 NIV – ‘What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?’

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be wholeheartedly devoted to you. From today, I make the decision to give my entire life to you. Break, mold, and use me for your glory in Jesus name. Amen.
