John 4: 23-24 NKJV – “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
How do you worship God when you do not know how to sing or dance? You just sing and dance! Sounds simple right?
We often confine ourselves based on what we think we should do or say because of religious tradition. When it comes to worship, we think we have to produce the perfect notes or dance moves.
God does not care so much about the perfect notes or dance moves. He simply wants us to come with the right heart and be genuine when we come to Him. He wants us to be sincere, to be child-like. It is okay if you initially feel awkward lifting your hands or shouting. As long as your praise is coming from the heart, don’t worry about how you look, just honor God for who He is. If it helps, close your eyes.
There are different ways to worship God, but whatever you do, do not limit the way you worship Him based on your talent or preference. Worship Him with everything you have and however you can because He deserves it.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I want to worship You in spirit and in truth. Teach me how to praise and honor you in song and with my whole life. Help me to worship You freely, and with all of me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
