“O my Lord, I am not eloquent” Exodus 4:10 (ESV)
Remain encouraged. God’s not done with you.
For a very long time a lot of us are out to look for our mission. We think that our purpose is specific to something. We think that an explosive moment will happen when it will dawn on us that something is our mission.
Until we get to that moment, we typically feel like we are wandering through life. Even if we know Christ we still feel like aimless wanderers. We feel like outsiders; we crave for more. A lot of us, like Moses initially, have a mindset that limits our potential to what we have already uncovered but we don’t give God room to act in our lives. Another part of this equation is what we are told in the book of Genesis.
“and let them have dominion,” Gen 1:26.
We try to figure out how we can have dominion, how we can exercise dominion over the earth. In what ways, we can exercise dominion.
The truth about it is that you can just start serving wherever your help is needed and inside of that, your purpose will come. That is where purpose is uncovered. Examples include Joshua, Moses, Jeremiah, Solomon, Paul, Timothy.
A lot of times we think that we are serving others. We think that service is to others but everyone who has served enough understands the paradoxical manifestation of service and that is that most often you end up benefitting from service. Through service you grow, and you heal.
With this, remain encouraged, God’s not done with you.
PRAYER: Our Father and our Lord, sometimes we feel like we are not doing enough Oh God. Father, Lord God, I pray that you will affirm us whenever we feel that we are incompetent. That we will find peace and stability wherever we are, wherever You have us, trusting You always. In Jesus Name. Amen.
