1 Thessalonians 5:11 AMP – “Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing.”
“You’ll be okay.” These were the words spoken to me by my two year old son as I sat on the carpet deep in thought. I barely noticed I was thinking so deeply until I felt his hand on my shoulder and he uttered those words. He smiled at me to emphasize his point and I was reminded of God’s love for me.
It then struck me that even though my son is a toddler, God still has and continues to use him to encourage me. My son wasn’t concerned about what to say or how to say it. In that moment, he just knew something should be said.
At times, we miss opportunities to encourage others because we overthink it. We may even wonder if what we say will make any difference. What if the person does not receive it? Will it be presented right? etc.
The next time you are given the opportunity to encourage someone, please do so. If God can use a toddler, He most certainly wants to use you. Remember… “You’ll be okay.”
PRAYER: Dear Lord help me to be your mouthpiece. May my words be the encouragement someone needs today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
