When Paul was called before the Jewish council and the high priest, before the governor, and King Agrippa, he shared his testimony.
“One day I was on such a mission to Damascus, armed with the authority and commission of the leading priests. About noon, Your Majesty, as I was on the road, a light from heaven brighter than the sun shone down on me and my companions. We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is useless for you to fight against My will. – Acts of the Apostles 26:12-14 NLT
It was the moment Christ revealed Himself to Paul. ‘So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. ‘ Acts 26:15 NKJV
God brought him out of darkness into His marvelous light, and then called Paul to lead others from darkness into light.
‘But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’’ Acts 26:16-18 NKJV
Wow. This makes me wonder:
- What has God called me out from? What is my testimony?
- “To turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God..” If I believe that God did this for me, how am I sharing my testimony, partaking in God’s work to turn others from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God.
PRAYER: Lord help me to live a life that is no longer my own. Help me to submit to Your wisdom and understanding, that I may live obedient to Your will.
Help me to trust in You with all of my heart. To lean not on my own understanding, but in all my ways acknowledge You, believing that You shall direct my paths. In Jesus name. Amen.
